How to define who is the best wedding photographer in Portugal?

Here is an outline for an article about "best wedding photographers for intimate ceremonies":

I. Introduction

  • Definition of intimate ceremonies.
An intimate wedding ceremony is a small, private wedding celebration that typically involves only the couple and a few close family members and friends. Intimate ceremonies are often more casual and relaxed than larger, traditional weddings, and they can take place in a variety of settings, including at home, in a park, at a courthouse, or in a small, intimate venue. Because they are smaller in scale, intimate ceremonies often allow couples to focus more on the meaningful aspects of their wedding, rather than the details and logistics of a larger event. Some couples choose to have an intimate ceremony as a way to keep their wedding more low-key and personal, while others may opt for an intimate ceremony due to budget or logistical constraints.

  • Importance of finding the right photographer for your intimate ceremony.
Finding the right photographer for your intimate ceremony is important because the photographs from your wedding day will be a lasting record of the event, and you will want to make sure that they accurately capture the mood, atmosphere, and emotion of your special day. A skilled and experienced photographer will be able to take beautiful, artistic photos that reflect the intimacy and uniqueness of your ceremony, and will be able to create images that you will treasure for years to come.

In addition to capturing the essence of your intimate ceremony, the right photographer will also be able to work well with the small scale of your event. They will be able to blend into the background and be discreet, capturing candid, spontaneous moments without disrupting the flow of the ceremony. They will also be able to work with you to create a customized photography plan that fits your specific needs and vision for your wedding day.

Overall, finding the right photographer for your intimate ceremony will ensure that you have beautiful, professional photographs that you can look back on and cherish for years to come.

II. What to Look for in a Wedding Photographer for Intimate Ceremonies

  • Photography style that captures the intimacy and emotion of the occasion

  • Experience shooting small, intimate ceremonies

  • Ability to be discreet and unobtrusive

III. Tips for Choosing the Best Wedding Photographer for Your Intimate Ceremony
It is difficult to definitively say who the best wedding photographer in Portugal is, as personal preference and style play a big role in choosing a photographer. Here are a few things to consider when trying to find the best photographer for your wedding:

Consider the size and location of your ceremony

  • Look at the photographer's portfolio or blog depending if you value strong images or the ability to tell stories, also it would help you to get a sense of their style and experience

  • Set up a consultation or interview with the photographer to get to know them better

V. Conclusion

  1. Look for photographers who have experience shooting weddings in Portugal, as they will be familiar with the light and locations in the area. Sometimes having a creative mind is also very good. For example as a photographer, I don’t want to cover 20 weddings in the same location each year, it gives a new perspective and keeps the photographer alert on what is going to happen during the day.

  2. Consider the style of photography you prefer. Do you want traditional posed shots, or do you prefer a more candid, photojournalistic style?

  3. Look at the photographer's portfolio to get a sense of their work and whether it aligns with your vision for your wedding photos. Ask if you can see full galleries of their work. In Europe, we have what is called the GDPR law which does not allow photographers to show all their galleries without consent of the couple and families. The photographer may have the consent to show you some of their best work and galleries.

  4. Read reviews from past clients to get an idea of the photographer's professionalism and the quality of their work.

  5. Meet with the photographer in person (either in person or virtually) to discuss your vision for your wedding photos and see if you feel comfortable working with them.

Ultimately, the best wedding photographer for you will be someone who understands your vision and is able to deliver beautiful, high-quality photos that you will cherish for years to come.

A bit of History about Portugal.

Portugal, officially the Portuguese Republic (Portuguese: República Portuguesa is a country whose mainland is located on the Iberian Peninsula of Southwestern Europe, and whose territory also includes the Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira. It features the westernmost point in continental Europe, and its Iberian portion is bordered to the west and south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north and east by Spain, the sole country to have a land border with Portugal. Its two archipelagos form two autonomous regions with their own regional governments. Lisbon is the capital and largest city by population.

Portugal is the oldest continuously existing nation-state on the Iberian Peninsula and one of the oldest in Europe, its territory having been continuously settled, invaded and fought over since prehistoric times. It was inhabited by pre-Celtic and Celtic peoples who had contact with Phoenicians and Ancient Greek traders, it was ruled by the Romans, followed by the invasions of the Suebi and Visigothic Germanic peoples, in turn followed by the Moors who eventually were expelled. Portugal as a county was established during the early Christian Reconquista. Founded in 868, the County of Portugal gained prominence after the Battle of São Mamede (1128). The Kingdom of Portugal was later proclaimed following the Battle of Ourique (1139), and independence from León was recognized by the Treaty of Zamora

In the 15th and 16th centuries, Portugal established the first global maritime and commercial empire, becoming one of the world's major economic, political and military powers. During this period, today referred to as the Age of Discovery, Portuguese explorers pioneered maritime exploration with the discovery of what would become Brazil (1500). During this time Portugal monopolized the spice trade, divided the world into hemispheres of dominion with Castile, and the empire expanded with military campaigns in Asia. By the early 19th century however, events such as the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, the country's occupation during the Napoleonic Wars, and the resulting independence of Brazil in 1822 led to a marked decay of Portugal's prior opulence. This was followed by the civil war between liberal constitutionalists and conservative absolutists over royal succession, which lasted from 1828 to 1834.

The 1910 revolution deposed Portugal's centuries-old monarchy, and established the democratic but unstable Portuguese First Republic, later being superseded by the Estado Novo (New State) authoritarian regime. Democracy was restored after the Carnation Revolution (1974), ending the Portuguese Colonial War. Shortly after, independence was granted to almost all its overseas territories. The handover of Macau to China (1999) marked the end of one of the longest-lived colonial empires in history.

Portugal has left a profound cultural, architectural and linguistic influence across the globe, with a legacy of around 250 million Portuguese speakers around the world. It is a developed country with an advanced economy which holds the 14th largest gold reserve at its national central bank, the 8th largest proven reserves of lithium, with the weight of exports representing 49% of its GDP in 2022 and high living standards. Additionally, it ranks highly in peacefulness, democracy, press freedom, stability, social progress, prosperity and English proficiency. A member of the United Nations, the European Union, the Schengen Area and the Council of Europe (CoE), Portugal was also one of the founding members of NATO, the eurozone, the OECD, and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries.
