Wedding and Elopement Photography Service.

Are you searching for a Wedding or Event photographer in Colmar?

I have been covering over 170 Weddings since July 2014, I can say that I am full of advice and help for your big day.

My couples are similar and so different at the same time. I would say that they have certain similar characteristics, they prefer to spend time with their families and friends rather than spending an hour taking the couple photos, they are usually shy, they don’t feel at ease to be the center of the attention, they have a certain knowledge about art, sometimes photography and painting.

Do you want to have an intimate wedding in Colmar that reflects your journey as a couple, your passions, and your spirit of adventure?

This is elopement photography for couples who want to ignore tradition and get married in a way that feels authentic to them. As a photographer, my purpose is to discreetly capture the story of your day in an honest and heartfelt way, without posing or intruding. I will record every aspect, from the raw emotions and poignant moments as they unfold, to the details you won’t want to forget.

I care deeply about creating meaningful connections with every couple who invites me to be a part of their journey. My approach is to innovate, not to conform to conventions. Your elopement experience should be as personal, genuine, and unique as you are.

Emotional Photographer documenting emotional Weddings.

Since July 2014, I document your intimate wedding, your Minimony, Sequel Wedding, Micro wedding or Adventurous Elopement, proposal, and engagement and I have seen a lot of love stories, full of joy and emotions. It has a lot of different names but only the story matters. I am moved by telling the story of your day in the most natural and genuine way possible. No need to spend one hour behind the church with me to take the couple photographs, I will always value letting you spend time with family and friends. This is your day, not mine.

Most of my couples define themselves as shy in front of the camera, I believe simply they don’t know how easy it is to spend a few simple moments with their partner in front of my camera. I will follow you from getting ready to the dance floor in the most natural way possible. To deliver a poetic and unique vision of the most important day of your life.
I have a lot of experience and expertise in traveling around Europe mostly. For the last 6 years, I have covered most of my weddings abroad and overseas.

I believe I can help you with my experience and advice for a perfect wedding day. I have prepared some articles to help you to find the right place to get married or to be inspired in some places like Spain, The Balearic Islands such as Ibiza, Mallorca,… Mexico, Morocco and of course Portugal. A bit of History about Colmar.

Colmar (FrenchColmar, pronounced [kɔlmaʁ]AlsatianColmer [ˈkolməʁ]German during 1871–1918 and 1940–1945: Kolmar) is a city and commune in the Haut-Rhin department and Grand Est region of north-eastern France. The third-largest commune in Alsace (after Strasbourg and Mulhouse), it is the seat of the prefecture of the Haut-Rhin department and of the subprefecture of the Colmar-Ribeauvillé arrondissement.

Colmar is a French commune in the Haut-Rhin department. Prefecture of the department, it has been part, since January 1, 2016, of the Grand Est region.

Colmar is located in the historical and cultural region of Alsace.

It had nearly 70,000 inhabitants at the last census in 2016, which makes it the second Haut-Rhin municipality and the third Alsatian municipality in terms of number of inhabitants after Strasbourg and Mulhouse. Colmar has chosen to link up with the latter within the metropolitan center of Alsace, which brings together the large Alsatian agglomerations with the aim of influencing the new Grand Est region. Its inhabitants are called the Colmariens.

The town belongs to the great economic and demographic group that is Rhenish Europe, which has nearly a hundred million people and extends from the Netherlands to Switzerland via Belgium, Luxembourg, Alsace and western Germany.

As the crow flies, Colmar is located halfway between Strasbourg to the north (64 km) and Basel to the south (60 km). Freiburg im Breisgau is 38 km to the east. Further on, we find Zurich at 119 km, Luxembourg at 193 km, Geneva at 229 km, Munich at 314 km, Innsbruck at 317 km, Lyon at 322 km, Milan at 323 km, Brussels at 378 km or Paris at 380 km.

Colmar is mentioned for the first time in the ninth century. Free city of the Holy Empire, it is a member of the Decapolis. It underwent rapid development at the end of the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance. With a belt of ramparts, it nevertheless suffers from the troubles linked to the Reformation, the Peasants 'War and the Thirty Years' War, following which it was annexed by France. Colmar was ceded to the German Empire in 1871 then re-annexed to France following the armistice of 1918. Although not being the capital of a region, Colmar was home to a court of appeal. This particularity is due to the elevation of the city to the rank of judicial capital by the former Sovereign Council of Alsace in 1698.

The city has a rich architectural heritage, including an old collegiate church, several convents, a remarkable theater, canals (Little Venice) and houses from the Middle Ages. Its location, in the center of the Alsatian vineyard and close to the Vosges piedmont, and its particular climate conducive to the cultivation of vines, have earned it the nickname of "capital of Alsace wines". It is also a city of culture, seat of the Unterlinden museum housing the Isenheim altarpiece. Colmar is also the hometown of the creator of the Statue of Liberty in New York, Auguste Bartholdi and Jean-Jacques Waltz, better known under the name of Hansi.

The city is renowned for its well-preserved old town, its numerous architectural landmarks, and its museums, among which is the Unterlinden Museum, which houses the Isenheim Altarpiece.

Colmar is situated on the Alsatian Wine Route and considers itself to be the "capital of Alsatian wine" (capitale des vins d'Alsace).

Colmar was first mentioned by Charlemagne in his chronicle about Saxon wars. This was the location where the Carolingian Emperor Charles the Fat held a diet in 884. Colmar was granted the status of a free imperial city by Emperor Frederick II in 1226. In 1354 it joined the Décapole city league. The city adopted the Protestant Reformation in 1575, long after the northern neighbours of Strasbourg and Sélestat. During the Thirty Years' War, it was taken by the Swedish army in 1632, which held it for two years. In 1634 the Schoeman family arrived and started the first town library. In 1635 the city's harvest was spoiled by Imperialist forces while the residents shot at them from the walls.

The city was conquered by France under King Louis XIV in 1673 and officially ceded by the 1679 Treaties of Nijmegen. In 1854 a cholera epidemic killed many in the city. With the rest of Alsace, Colmar was annexed by the newly formed German Empire in 1871 as a result of the Franco-Prussian War and incorporated into the Alsace-Lorraine province. It returned to France after World War I according to the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, was annexed by Nazi Germany in 1940, and then reverted to French control after the battle of the "Colmar Pocket" in 1945. Colmar has been continuously governed by conservative parties since 1947, the Popular Republican Movement (1947–1977), the Union for French Democracy (1977–1995) and the Union for a Popular Movement (since 1995), and has had only three mayors during that time.

The Colmar Treasure, a hoard of precious objects hidden by Jews during the Black Death, was discovered here in 1863.

Colmar is 64 kilometres (40 mi) south-southwest of Strasbourg, at 48.08°N, 7.36°E, on the Lauch River, a tributary of the Ill. It is located directly to the east of the Vosges and connected to the Rhine in the east by a canal.

In 2017, the city had a municipal population of 69,105, and the metropolitan area of Colmar had a population of 131,639 in 2016. Colmar is the center of the arrondissement of Colmar-Ribeauvillé, which had 211,312 inhabitants in 2017.

Colmar has a sunny microclimate and is one of the driest cities in France, with an annual precipitation of just 607 mm (23.9 in), making it ideal for Alsace wine. It is considered the capital of the Alsatian wine region.

The dryness results from the town's location next to mountains, which force clouds arriving from the west to rise, and much of their moisture to condense and fall as precipitation over the higher ground, leaving the air warmed and dried by the time it reaches Colmar. Summers are warm, while winters are moderately cold.
